So Christmas is right around the corner and there is something about Christmas that just makes me feel so happy, maybe it’s the air (it’s definitely not the air, it’s ducking dry) maybe it’s the fact that family comes together or maybe it’s the food. Christmas is my favorite holiday, if not that my parents are very African and see no use of decorations and gift giving, I feel like I would be very dramatic with the whole festivities.

This season being the season of giving, I would love to talk about ā€œthe art of givingā€. The art of giving is known as giving with all of your heart without expecting anything in return. Giving and happiness are connected because they come from a deep place within. Giving is an act that is enjoyed twice, by first the giver and then the receiver. Seeing the joy on the face of the receiver does something to me deep down, it makes me feel satisfied. One of life’s basic law is ā€œevery single act of love, kindness and generosity will multiply and return to you many times overā€.

When we talk about giving I am sure a lot of people are thinking; an all paid vacation in Maldives, a new phone, a spa treatment, shopping spree, maybe a new laptop and oh yeah bone straight šŸ˜‰. Basically you don’t need so much money to be able to give, there is so much to give; it could be a massage, breakfast in bed, a foot rob, a compliment, a good advice, a helping hand, or even a smile. A very special form of giving can be personal acts of kindness. We all have something of value for another person, and something to give.

You giving doesn’t make you a ā€œsimpā€ like the world seems to call it these days. The fact that you give and people take advantage of you isn’t your fault, whomever takes advantage of your generosity has a ā€œpoverty mentalityā€. Don’t make that one ill mannered individual take that amazing quality from you. In fact your ability to remain a giver in a world that just takes shit from you makes you a ā€œpimpā€ definitely not a ā€œsimpā€.

It was Lao Tsu who wrote a long time ago that ā€œkindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates loveā€, I think love is the most courageous thing to do, don’t let a bitter world take that from you. In fact being a simp is badass! Own it, I AM A SIMP DUCK SOCIETY!. In the spirit of the festivities I urge y’all to give someone something special, put a smile on a face. It could be anyone, just GIVE! And before I forget, MERRY CHRISTMAS in advance šŸŽ‰šŸ„³.

Xoxo Coco.
