Learning for me is uncomplicating (I just made up that word) the complicated. There are so much to be learned yet limited time. One thing that has always fascinated me is different people in the world and their cultures, the most interesting thing is their language. I always wondered how people could understand gibberish someone or a group of persons cooked up to communicate with each other.
John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was a GENIUS!, I can’t emphasize enough about how much of a genius he was. He is the author of “lord of the rings”, he invented at least 15 languages for his writings. My point is he cooked up something, called it language and those languages are still being studied. I’ll talk more about him some other day.
When I was a kid, I and my immediate younger sister had our own language. We understood each other I guess, because sometimes we would say something and laugh so hard at the same time (good times). The irony of this shit is I can’t speak or comprehend any language fluently; my dad is Igbo (well I don’t understand that, I know it’s embarrassing don’t come for me), my mom is Idoma (I understand but can’t speak), I learned Hausa in school (I was lousy at it, at least I can buy stuff from the market in Hausa), I also learned French (I cant remember shit), I know a few words in Yoruba from the media (they own that shit), and I am currently learning Spanish and Swahili, the title of today’s post is “Aprendizaje” which is Spanish for “learning” (ps. I am not that good in Spanish, I just googled the word)
I decided to share 10 exotic words with y’all, so get jotting and thank me later;
