I think it’s safe to say that everyone agrees with the popular saying “music is life”, but for me music is more than life (if that is possible). I can tell you what music I was listening to at anytime of my life and what I was going through, it serves as a memory jar because every song I listen to has a story to tell about me. My love for music knows no bound or genre. You guys are probably wondering the meaning of the topic or not, well I am telling y’all anyway. Amo la música is Spanish for I love music (just wanted to show off my little knowledge of Spanish).
Music has to be the most beautiful creation of mankind, how can something you can’t see make such an impact in your life. Even Albert Einstein agrees with me, he said “if I were not a physicist I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my day dreams in music. I see my life in terms of music” I also think in music most of the time but I can’t go into music because I don’t want to send the likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna out of the industry ( that was a lie I sound like a screeching banshee when I sing). Music has always been my best friend, it has been there for me through it all (it’s my therapy session), especially through my insecure days all I need to do is play a hip hop song on the highest volume with my earphones and the world becomes my runway. In fact I am presently listening to Masego’s old age, music inspires some of my writing.
I have a tremendous ear for good music, my friends call me the “jam plug” (that’s my favorite compliment right after “you are smart”). If I discover a new album or song I get so happy, like when you are eating and remember you have your chicken to eat right after. You probably think I am crazy, I agree that I am crazy over music.
My playlist is comprised of different genre of music… my go to artist are; Masego, Nf, Joyner Lucas, Jhene Aiko, Ladipoe, Santi, Boj, Ajebutter, Tems, Tierra Whack, Odunsi, Nonso Amadi, Hopsin, and so many others ( I could go on but the list won’t end soon). Whenever you feel down I recommend music, it always makes me feel better. As the “jam plug” that I am, I have decided to share my latest discovered sound with y’all from time to time. My best sound this week is Masego, I am obsessed with him. He is the architect of the genre “trap house jazz”, he is so creative and so good looking. I love to have a one on one encounter with him so I could pick his brain, the way he thinks has to be amazing (don’t worry I am not a psychopath). Y’all should check him out. I would also want to hear new sound from y’all my beautiful readers, so please comment an artist you think I should check out.
